What's Happening at Shida

I thought I would start a News page for what is going on here and updates on pups and showing, etc.

Nov. 2009 -
Nov 12 - the puppies are growing like weeds. I just cannot decide who I am the most in love with so for now, all the hairless girls are staying and I am having a very hard time deciding which puff girl to send to a friend of mine who has been waiting a LONG time!
Last week it was the pink girl I could not part with, now it's back to the tiny brown girl and I still love the fire engine red! Names, Names.... we have been trying so hard but they keep changing.

We have a newcomer here! Lemiz Double Trouble has joined our household. Mario came out of his crate like he was meeting long lost friends. He had been living in Florida so he will dry out some, but still have the mild winters. Mario is originally from far away England. I am delighted to have him here. He fits in here like a glove. Be sure to visit his page.
I have been looking for so long for a quality outcross male since JJ was diagnosed PRA affected. Mario looks like he will fill those shoes.

Show news - Glamazon is pointed out and needs 1 major to finish. She was a fast finish! Hope to get that last major soon. Tabitha has been picking up points and is pointed out now needing her majors to finish.

October 3rd. Sarah and Frog's puppies are here! 6 puppies! 1 PPM, 2 PPF and 3 HLF. So pretty.
Sept 5th, 2009 - the wedding was amazing! Photos soon.

July 2nd, 2009
Chinese Crested Club of Greater Los Angeles FIRST Specialty.
Goldilocks goes Winners to finish her Championship! It was a lovely group of bitches and she got a 4 point major for the win. She was also Best Bred By in Specialty.
Glamazon won her 6-9 month puppy class and went on to Best Puppy in Specialty!
I need to get web pages designed for the kids soon. Maybe after the wedding.

May 29, 2009
It has been quite some time since I posted here and so much has gone on...

First off -- I'm getting Married!
September 5, 2009 -- just a few months from now.
My long time boyfriend and I reignited our relationship about a year and a half ago. Exploring what we have and where we are going, Eric surprised me and popped the question! I could not have been more floored and excited. The place I wanted to get married had an unexpected cancellation and we jumped on the date -- so I have been nothing but BUSY since February. Things seem to be falling into place and this weekend Eric moves in with me and the dogs.

Goldilocks is STILL looking for that last major. So many times the major has broken or there have not been enough to make a major. A couple of times she has pulled off a reserve and even gone winners but not crossed over to get the points. Her coat looks lovely and I'm sure we will get that major soon -- hopefully we will continue to have majors with the change in the point schedule.

Mushu is in Russia on lease to Tatyana Romanova. I am excited to have him there and look forward to posting more about his adventures. The fabulous Russian ice skater Alena Leonova carried him there and it was a thrill to meet her.

The Puppies
Jordan (Shida The Showgirl Must Go On) is now in Belgium with Ilse Callens. Ilse is a dear friend and I know Jordan will have the very, very best life. Jordan is growing into a fine young lady.

Tony (Shida Just Push Play) is just starting out on his show career. Just seems like yesterday they were being born (and I was getting my new fridge! lol!). Tony's first show he was WD, BOW and got a point. He also got a reserve WD his second weekend out. He has turned out to be a bigger boy than I ever would have expected, especially with how tiny he was as a kid. But he is all show dog and is a lot of fun to take in the ring, so we will see how he goes.

Dominika (Shida Lil Somethin Extra) is still a total goofball. I have hope to show her as she grows up. We shall see. She is still totally unaware what a lead or a crate is for. She does do a mighty good vampire impression when you ask her to "show me all of your teeth". She not only smiles but opens her mouth all the way so you can see ALL of her teeth ;-) I wonder how the judges will like that! lol! Her coat looks wonderful when it is not full of dirt and foxtails from playing with her siblings.

Glammy (Shida Glamazon) has turned into a little star. Her first show she was reserve Winners, Best puppy, Best Puppy in group and was pulled out for Best Puppy in Show! Not bad for not ever being anywhere and barely being lead broke. I never had a chance to take these guys to classes or matches and it has been a bit of an experiment to see how they react to starting out with the real thing. Glamazon has one set of 2 points from her second weekend of shows. The other three days she went reserve to the major. She was again best puppy on Thursday but we did not stay for the puppy group. She is showing really consistantly but did get scared that first day last weekend in a big building with a lot of echo and barking, howing dogs. She came back strong the next day. I'm glad we passed on the group.

I hope to have pages up for the kids soon. I also plan to have a page for the wedding photos -- check back!
